Halloween 2008 in DLRP

Disney’s Halloween Festival start dit jaar op 4 oktober en loopt tot en met 2 november 2008. Gedurende een maand is het Disneyland Park in de ban van Halloween en ook dit jaar zullen de Pumpkin Men en Pumpkin Ladies Main Street USA een oranje kleurtje geven. Frontierland wordt weer Halloweenland maar zoals we hier reeds schreven, zonder de roze heksen. De roze heksen zijn definitief verdrongen en ook Stitch is dit jaar niet meer van de partij. Er is wel voor het eerst in Disneyland Resort Paris Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Parties in Fantasyland en natuurlijk is er op 31 oktober de Halloween Party waar Yago’s Disney Nieuws zeker aanwezig is.

Verder is er nog elke dag “The Disney Villains’ Halloween Show” op Central Plaza. Deze show wordt gepresenteerd door Minnie in haar Halloweenoutfit en ze is in het gezelschap van de Pumpkin Men en de Pumpkin Ladies. Governor Ratcliffe uit Pocahontas en Shan-Yu uit Mulan komen dit jaar de Disney Villains-ploeg versterken. Na de show is er een Meet'n'Greet" met de Disney Villains.

Ook de Disney Characters Express, voor de gelegenheid omgetoverd in de Halloween Disney Characters’ Express, passeert dagelijks door Main Street USA met aan boord natuurlijk de Disney Villains.

Voor de Disney’s Once Upon a Dream Parade zal er telkens een special Halloween preparade zijn waar we de verschillende Disney Villains en de Pumpkin burgers zullen zien. Maar het neusje van de zalm is toch wel Jack Skellington en Sally, uit Tim Burton’s Nightmare before Christmas, die voor het eerst in Disneyland Resort Parijs te zien zullen zijn.

Wanneer men door de poorten van Fort Comstock loopt, komt men in Halloweenland terecht waar de gasten talrijke verrassingen te wachten staan. Op het Trick or Treat stage (podium naast Cowboy Cookout Barbeque) zijn er optredens van Minnie & the Bat Boys, Goofy en zijn Magische kookpot. En net zoals ieder jaar zullen de kinderen kunnen deelnemen aan de traditionele Halloween Piñata.

Aan Boot Hill, het kerkhof van Phantom Manor, zal men op verschillende tijdstippen Jack skeleton en Sally van de Nightmare before Christmas kunnen ontmoeten.
Op Halloweenavond kan men in Disneyland Resort Paris genieten van de speciale Halloween Party vanaf 20.30 uur tot 1 uur in het Disneyland Park. Die avond is er voor de gasten een speciaal Halloweenprogramma. Er is de Disney’s Fantillusion Parade gevolgd door een spooktaculair vuurwerk met projecties op het kasteel.

Er zijn de Spooktackular Stage Shows op het Trick or Treat Stage in Halloweenland en voor het kasteel op Central Plaza is er de The Disney Villains’ Halloween Showtime. De avond wordt afgesloten met een Spooky DJ Party in Main Street U.S.A.

Volgens de geruchten zouden Mickey en Minnie allebei een nieuw Halloweenkostuum krijgen.

The Princess and the Frog

We hadden het hier reeds over de nieuwe Disney Prinsessenfilm The Princess and the Frog. Ondertussen is de officiële website online waarop je de eerste trailer kan bekijken.

Het script en de regie van The Princess and the Frog is in handen van John Musker en Ron Clements, bekend van Aladdin en the Little Mermaid, terwijl Randy Newman de componist van dienst was. Randy Newman schreef o.a. de muziek voor Toy Story 1 en 2, Cars, Monsters Inc., A Bug’s Life en is ook aan het componeren voor Toy Story 3. Verschillende bekenden leenden hun stem aan de personages van deze Disneyfilm. Zo zijn Anika Noni Rose, Bruno Campos, Keith David, Jenifer Lewis, Peter Bartlett, John Goodman, Jennifer Cody, Jim Cummings en Michael-Leon Wooley te horen als respectievelijk Princess Tiana, Prince Naveen, Dr. Facilier, mama Odie, Lawrence,Eli “Big Daddy” La Bouff, Charlotte La Bouff, Ray en Louis.

Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort

Disney heeft een schets vrijgegeven waarop een paar details van de renovatiewerken voor Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort in Walt Disney World te zien zijn. Men heeft voor het populaire thema van de Pirates of the Caribbean gekozen.

De bedden lijken op schepen, de kasten hebben de vorm van oude kisten en wie de gordijnen bekijkt, denkt dat men de wind in de zeilen heeft.

Disney plant om zo’n 384 kamers in de Trinidad South Village Area klaar te hebben in de loop van volgend jaar. Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort heeft in totaal 2.112 kamers.

Na het Halloweenseizoen (van 4 oktober tot en met 2 november 2008) is er zoals ieder jaar in Disneyland Resort Parijs Disney’s Bonfire Spectacular. Op 3, 5 en 7 november kan je aan Lake Disney genieten van een spectaculair vuurwerk “ Disney’s Bonfire”. Foto’s van vorig jaar kan je hier bekijken.

Het kerstseizoen, dat dit jaar van 8 november 2008 tot en met 6 januari 2009 loopt, zal terug in echte Disneystijl gebeuren. Er valt terug sneeuw in Main Street USA en er is de Fantillusion. Ook het kasteel van terug in een ijskasteel omgetoverd worden. Natuurlijk is ook de Kerstman met zijn rendier van de partij.

Nieuw dit jaar is “Le Merveilleux Diner de Noel de Mickey”. Tijdens het Kerstseizoen zal men op 3 avonden, namelijk 6 – 13 en 20 december, in een paviljoen achter Stars Tours, in aanwezigheid van de Disneycharacters in hun kerstoutfit van een kerstdiner kunnen genieten. Het diner bestaat uit een buffet waarvoor men € 55 per volwassene en € 20 per kind (tot 11 jaar) zal moeten betalen en begint om 19 uur. Na de maaltijd zal men met de Disneycharacters kunnen dansen tot 21 uur.

Harriet Burns

Disneylegende Harriet Burns verliet ons op vrijdag 25 juli 2008. Harriet Burns is geboren 20 augustus 1928 in San Antonio (Texas) en ze behaalde haar bachelor in Kunst aan de Southern Methodist University in Dallas. Haar verdere studies maakte ze af aan de University of New Mexico in Albuquerque. Ze was de eerste vrouw die een creatieve taak had bij de Walt Disney Imagineering in plaats van een kantoorjob. Ze hielp onder andere bij het ontwerpen en bouwen van prototypes voor attracties in het Disneyland Park en de New York World's Fair van 1964.

In 1953 verhuisde ze met gezin naar Los Angeles waar ze een part-time job had bij Dice Display Industries Cooperative Exchange, waar ze hielp met het ontwerp en de productie van rekwisieten voor het televisieprogramma "Colgate Comedy Hour". Wanneer Dice Display Industries zijn werkzaamheden stopzette in 1955 kon een medewerker die ooit bij Disney werkzaam was, haar overtuigen om mee te gaan naar Disney. Daar kreeg ze de taak om de rekwisieten voor de nieuwe show Mickey Mouse Club te schilderen. Al vlug nam Harriet de coördinatie voor de kleurstyling op zich. Ze ontwierp en bouwde zelf het beroemde "Mouse Clubhouse".

Ze vervoegde later de Walt Disney Imagineering waar ze haar bijdrage leverde bij het ontwerpen van Sleeping Beauty Castle, New Orleans Square, the Haunted Mansion en nog veel meer. Ze heeft ook meegeholpen aan de bouw van Storybook Land en aan de "zingende vogels' in de Enchanted Tiki Room, de eerste Audio-Animatronics® attraction in Disneyland.

In 1986, na 31 Disneyjaren, gaat Harriet Burns met pensioen maar wordt ze een actief lid van de muziek- en kunstbeweging in haar woonplaats Santa Barbara. In 2000 werd ze als Disneylegende gehononeerd.

Mickey’s Magical Party

Vanaf april 2009 viert Disneyland Resort Parijs de 80ste verjaardag van Mickey Mouse en dit zoals we hier reeds schreven met “Mickey’s Magical Party”. Veel informatie heeft Disney nog niet vrijgegeven maar er circuleren natuurlijk allerlei geruchten zoals je hier reeds kon lezen.

Wat Disney wel al heeft vrijgegeven zijn de logo’s voor Mickey’s Magical Party.

Disney Fairies

Bij Disney zijn ze duidelijk in de ban van Tinker Bell en haar vriendjes. Er is de Tinker Bell film en in Disneyland Anaheim is men bezig met de bouw van een meet N ‘Greet voor Tinker Bell. Voor de face-characters werden trouwens audities gehouden.

Het Tinker Bell-virus heeft nu ook Walt Disney World in zijn greep. Daar willen ze Tinker Bell en haar vriendjes meer in het park laten zien en heeft men volgens de geruchten ook plannen om een attractie te bouwen. Voor deze attractie zou men zich volledig concentreren op de sterren uit de Disney Fairies.

Mad Hatter

We hadden het hier al Tim Burton's "Alice in Wonderland" en de zoektocht naar Alice. Uiteindelijk werd gekozen voor de Australische actrice Mia Wasikowska. Tim Burton's goeie vriend Johnny Depp kruipt in de huid van Mad Hatter.

De Disney/Pixarfilm Up heeft nu ook zijn officiële website en daarop is de teasertrailer te zien. Een ietwat uitgebreidere teaser zal op de DVD van Wall-E te zien zijn. In Amerika is de releasedatum 29 mei 2009, voor België en de rest van Europa is nog geen datum bekend.

De film vertelt het verhaal van de 78-jarige weduwnaar Carl Fredricksen die door bouwpromotoren uit zijn huisje verjaagt wordt en naar een bejaardentehuis moet verhuizen. Carl zijn echtgenote Ellie hadden een grote droom : samen zouden ze de wereld verkennen. Maar door allerlei omstandigheden werden deze plannen steeds uitgesteld en toen overleed Ellile plots en bleef Carl alleen achter. Wanneer de mensen van het bejaardentehuis bij Carl aan de deur staan, besluit hij om alsnog aan de reis die hij samen met zijn vrouw had willen maken, te beginnen alleen doet hij dat nu op een wel heel speciale manier.

Tron 2

Yago’s Disney Nieuws is in de ban van de op stapel staande Disneyfilms en DVD’s. Vandaag hebben we het over de sequel van Tron, nieuws dat trouwens door Disney officieus de wereld werd ingestuurd.

We hadden het hier reeds over dit filmproject dat geen remake van de SF-film uit 1982 is, maar een echt vervolg. Over de cast is nog niet veel bekend. Er is enkel het gerucht dat Jeff Bridges in Tron 2 terug in het gedaante van Kevin Flynn/Clu, een hacker die in de eerste film ontvoerd wordt in de computerwereld en daar gedwongen wordt om in gladiatorengevechten te participeren, zou terugkeren. De release zou ergens in het voorjaar van 2011 gepland zijn.

Bolt , met de stem van John Travolta,is een echte ster in Amerika. Als superhero-puppy verovert hij de harten van miljoenen fans maar er is één klein probleempje : Bolt beseft niet dat hij in de "echte" wereld maar een gewone puppy is. En het gebrek aan superkrachten wordt hem al snel duidelijk wanneer hij per ongeluk verscheept wordt van Hollywood naar New York. Samen met Miss Mittens, een zwerfkat, en Rhino, een hamster met overgewicht die in een plastieken bal woont, begint Bolt aan de lange weg terug. Terug naar zijn familie en zijn baasje Penny (met de stem van Miley Cyrus).

Een ongeval in een medisch laboratorium geeft aan een Beagle-jachthond genaamd Shoeshine een paar bijzondere superkrachten: hij wordt hoogbegaafd en kan spreken. Het is een geheim dat de hond uiteindelijk moet delen met een 12-jarige jongen genaamd Jack (Alex Neuberger) die zijn eigenaar en vriend wordt. Shoeshines bijzondere eigenschappen komen goed van pas als hij zijn liefje de beeldschone spaniël Polly Purebred en de burgers van Capitol City moet beschermen tegen de kwaadaardige Simon Bar Sinister (Peter Dinklage). Het lot van de stad ligt in de pootjes van Underdog met zijn superheldenkostuum.

In Disneyland Resort Paris kunnen de hotelgasten en de dreampasshouders ook in de maanden oktober, november en december van de magical hours genieten. Iedere morgen van 1 oktober tot en met 31 oktober kan je dan 2 uur voor de officiële openingstijd van het Disneyland park reeds het park verkennen. In november kan je van vrijdag tot en met maandag van de magical hours genieten, terwijl men in december terug iedere dag van de magical hours kan gebruik maken.

VIP at DLRP

Gisteren (25 juli) was Bob Iger, President and Chief Executive Officer van The Walt Disney Company, samen met zijn familie in Disneyland Resort Parijs. Verschillende Disneyfans hebben hem opgemerkt in de Walt Disney Studios waar hij een tiental minuten van de attractie Cars genoot en ook in het Disneyland Park zag men hem bij Buzz.

Hij was blijkbaar ook met de trein gekomen want La Rouquine heeft hem kunnen fotograferen in het station van Marne-la-Vallée Chessy.

Topped Off By A Sleep In!

Surfer Boy is working on an oil tanker in Bass Strait somewhere, Moondoggie and Gidget are having a sleepover at their Grandparents..... gee, what shall I do with myself????

I worked at CHALK today and after closing I strolled up to the Bookshop for my weekly drool and came away with The latest Jasper Fforde novel - First Among Sequels. I then popped into the cafe next door and spent a lovely hour drinking tea and re-reading the fabulous Twilight (see Bookgroup book). For me this is my idea of heaven - actually it could have been 28 degrees instead of 8 degrees but you can't have everything.

Next up is a trip to Blockbuster to choose tonights viewing, then take-away Thai and trackies on the couch with Krissa, the only other 40 year old who is excited that 'She's The Man' is on T.V. tonight! If you're a fan of cheesy teen movies, give this a go, if only for the incomparable comedic talent that is Amanda Bynes! (and yes, I'm serious.)(keep your eye out for the towel flick scene!! Priceless)

Vorige maand hebben we al foto’s geplaatst over de bouw van het nieuwe T-Rex Café in Downtown Disney in Walt Disney World. Ook deze maand hebben we enkele foto’s waarop je de vooruitgang van de werken kan merken.

De opening van dit préhistorisch restaurant is in het najaar gepland. Wie in de kerstvakantie een reisje naar Disney World plant, kan er dus terecht voor een hapje. Op de officiële site kan je alvast wat informatie vinden.

The body itself is still origin, the owner of the motorcycle, M Yunus - Bekasi, only give it full body airbrush so that it became center of people attention. The airbrushing done in Anugrah Motor workshop in Kalimalang.

2010 Chevy Camaro - LIVE from the reveal

GM design chief Ed Welburn and Chevy General Manager Ed Peper just gave the media our first up close and in person look at the new 2010 Chevy Camaro coupe. The reveal was done in the mechanical prep shop that GM design uses for the final prep on all its concept cars. Peper announced that Job 1 for the new Camaro will be coming on Feb. 16 of next year, and although no official pricing is available yet it will be priced aggressively says GM brass. That aggression goes right along with the new looks and powertrain choices for this new coupe, as well. Chevrolet will offer the Camaro in 3 trim levels, the V6-powered LS and LT and the V8-powered SS. The V6 is a direct injected 300-hp 3.6L unit while the 422-hp V8 displaces 6.2L. Both engines will be available with either manual or automatic transmissions, all with 6 speeds. An RS package will be available as an add-on to to the LT and SS models. GM designers have stayed remarkably faithful to the concept design, although they have made some tweaks mainly to the roofline. The car really looks handsome in person with its short front overhang and big wheels. They're wheeling the car outside so we're in pursuit to get more pictures in the sunlight and we'll have our own video the reveal up soon, as well.
