Now I have to decide if I should ditch the original blog or try to import it into the new one! All so hard and after using Blogger I'm finding Typepad much harder to use. What do you think?

Halloween- en Kerstseizoen 2009

Terwijl iedereen nog volop verlangt naar de zomer, is men in Disneyland Parijs al volop bezig met de voorbereidingen voor het Halloween- en Kerstseizoen.

Van 3 oktober tot en met 1 november 2009 wordt Disneyland Parijs weer het griezeligste plaatsje op de wereld. De Disneyschurken nemen het park voor een tijdje over. Net zoals vorig jaar is er dit jaar ook weer op verschillende avonden de “Mickey's not so scary halloween party”. Fantasyland wordt op 9, 16, 23 en 27 oktober 2009 omgetoverd in een ‘not-so-scary’ Halloweenland. Voor Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party dient men wel nog kaartjes apart te kopen.

Traditioneel is er op 31 oktober de Disney's Halloween Soiree wat het hoogtepunt van Disney’s Halloweenseizoen is. Ook hiervoor dient men kaartjes apart te kopen.

Ook de datum voor het kerstseizoen is reeds bekend : van 8 november 2009 tot 6 januari 2010 wordt het Disneyland Park in de kerstsfeer ondergedompeld. Het kasteel krijgt terug zijn ijzige look, er valt terug sneeuw in Mainstreet USA en je kan er de kerstman ontmoeten.

Finally The Crafting Bug Has Bitten

While Surfer Boy is out in the shed making me some frames for my new potato garden I thought I'd show you what else I've been up to.

I had been putting off a visit to Spotlight all week as I had to buy some filling for a quilt order and I just wasn't motivated. When I finally made myself go I fell in lust with some fabric and decided my project to redo the cushions on my couch should begin now. I spent the rest of the afternoon throwing out my old covers and making 6 new ones.

I'm pretty happy with the result and more than happy with the $29.00 it cost me. Even Surfer Boy likes them and he usually isn't a fan of couch cushions.

The only problem now is that the cat seems to have taken a major shine to them and is hard to oust from the couch.

Disneyfilms 2009

We hebben weer een nieuwe enquête online gezet. Dit keer kan je kiezen voor de Disneyfilm die volgens jou dé film van 2009 wordt. Je kan kiezen tussen Beverly Hills Chihuahua, Up, Bolt, G-Force, Hannah Montana : The movie en A Christmas Carol.

De enquête staat nog tot 30 juni online : dus stemmen maar.

Disney Villa's

Eind september staat de opening van de villa’s in Disney's Grand Californian Resort & Spa op het programma en zullen de gasten van Disney zich in een huiselijk sfeer kunnen ontspannen terwijl ze zich toch middenin de magie zullen wanen door het uitzicht. De bouw van de 50 villa’s met twee slaapkamers zijn de eerste woningen van Disney’s Vacation Club aan de Westkust. Hoewel de leden van de Disney Vacation Club (DVC) de eerste kans hebben om zo’n villa te huren, kunnen ook andere gasten een villa huren als deze beschikbaar zijn.

De villa's zijn slechts een onderdeel van de uitbreiding van Disney's Grand Californian Resort & Spa. Naast de villa’s komen er ook meer dan 200 nieuwe hotelkamers, een nieuw zwembad en ondergrondse parking.

Brandje

Dinsdag 26 mei 2009 was er een brand in Disney’s Newport Bay Club. Rond 22 uur brak er brand uit onder het dak van het zwembad van het hotel. De brand kon door medewerkers van het hotel geblust worden. De brand zou veroorzaakt zijn door een transformator van de verlichting in het plafond van het zwembad.

Het zwembad is leeggemaakt voor de nodige reparaties maar de hotelgasten kunnen in de zwembaden van Disney’s Hotel New York en Disney’s Sequoia Lodge. Volgens het management zal het zwembad heel binnenkort terug toegankelijk zijn maar een datum heeft men er niet bij vermeld.

Dit is de derde brand in twee maanden tijd in Disneyland Parijs. Op 15 april werden 400 gasten van Disney’s Hotel New York uit voorzorg geëvacueerd terwijl de brandweer de vlammen doofde van een defecte broodoven in de keuken. Twee weken voordien was er de brand aan de attractie Rock'N'Roller Coaster in de Walt Disney Studios.

All Aboard !

Het was een drukte van jewelste in het Union Station in het centrum van Los Angeles waar de Disney’s A Christmas Carol trein halt hield. De Disney's A Christmas Carol Train Tour is plezier voor het hele gezin want je wordt er meteen in de kerstsfeer ondergedompeld. De trein stopt in 40 steden in meer dan 36 staten van de VS. De bezoekers kunnen er achter de de schermen kijken naar de magie en de geavanceerde technologie van de "Disney's A Christmas Carol" een film geregisseerd door Robert Zemeckis.

Men toont er sneak peeks met concept arts, kostuums en maquettes die gebruikt werden in de film alsook een “making of”. Je krijgt er ook de gelegenheid om je gezicht in één van de personages uit de film te vervormen.

De trein tour begon haar tournee in Los Angeles en reist vervolgens verder naar Denver, Seattle, New Orleans, Detroit, Atlanta. De laatste halte is in New York waar hij net op tijd zal zijn voor de première van de film.

Meet Up

Na de preparade in Disney’s California Adventure kan je nu in de Disney’s Hollywood Studios op de foto met de personages van de Disney/Pixarfilm Up. Op de plaats waar je vroeger met de characters uit Bolt op de foto kon, is nu een meet ‘n’ greet met de Up-characters.

In de wachtrij zie je verschillende scenes uit de film.

Obama in Walt Disney World

Het is reeds langer bekend dat de Hall of Presidents-attractie in het Magic Kingdom een grote makeover krijgt. Een nieuwe film, een nieuwe verteller en, uiteraard, een nieuwe president. Maar nu zijn er nog meer details bekend.

De tentoonstelling wordt geopend met een nieuwe film en de verteller is acteur Morgan Freeman. Op een bepaald punt zal Abraham Lincoln opstaan en het publiek toespreken zoals vroeger maar nu zal men de Gettysburg Address in zijn geheel te zien en te horen krijgen. De Gettysburg Address is een korte toespraak van Amerikaans president Abraham Lincoln, uitgesproken op 19 november 1863 bij de wijding van het Soldier's National Cemetery te Gettysburg in de staat Pennsylvania.

En het is de eerste keer dat George Washington een sprekende rol zal hebben. Maar de vernieuwing is wel de invoering van de figuur van Obama die men zal zien en horen tijdens zijn eedaflegging.

Voor het ogenblik zijn de Disney Imagineers druk bezig met het maken van een animatronic versie van de president Obama.

De officiële heropening van de Hall of Presidents is voorzien op 4 juli 2009.

I was going to show you my mulching - very boring - but I realised this was much more interesting. I have the kind of husband who actually does stuff as soon as I've asked. I happened to mention that nothing would grow in one of the beds because the tree was blocking the sun so five minutes later he had the chainsaw out and half the tree was down!! I'm sure he thinks I don't appreciate him but one day, if he ever reads this blog, he'll see that I do - very much.

Esemka Car The New Indonesia Car Developed by Senior High School (SMK) Student

Afer Mobil GEA, Arina, Komodo and Tawon, there is a new Indonesia car the master piece of Senior High School Student (SMK) emerges. The car called Esemka, like the spell of SMK in Indonesia language.

Not such the other Mobnas (MobilNasional), Esemka comes with several variants such as SUV, pick up double and single cabin, sedan and van.

In developing Esemka, there are several SMK Schools involved. For instance the body and design is the responsible of SMK Muhammadiyah 2 Borobudur Magelang while for the engine is the responsible of SMKN 4 Jakarta and SMK 1 Cibinong.

One of Esemka variant is Esemka Digdaya which is a pick up double cabin with ex Timor 1.500 cc as the engine. The Esemka Digdaya was created by SMK 1 Singosari Malang . To develop Esemka Digdaya, the students need about 3 months to finish it.

So will Esemka to be mass production ?

Autumn is not the time of year when I usually feel inspired to hit the garden but this year the weather has been so perfect for gardening in Melbourne that I can't help myself. I even bought myself some gumboots today! Now that the veggie garden is nearly done I'm moving on to the next bed.
