M&Ms

Oh my god - how did I not know about these????

A customer came in today to pick up something for her daughter's wedding and she told me she had just ordered 5kilos of PERSONALISED M&Ms!!!

I nearly fell over - how fun.  It turns out you can order just one colour too which would help me out as I can not seem to eat M&Ms without arranging the colours first.  I am physically incapable of putting a handful of them in my mouth randomly.  I have to eat them in colours or colour combinations - weird I know.  Does anyone else have the same problem?

I really, really want an excuse to order bags of personalised M&Ms - maybe I could put the CHALK logo on a couple of kilos.....hmmm the possibilities are endless.....

Love

I'm not a huge jewellery fan but I love everything about this ring.  It is whimsical and that colour is amazing although I 'm betting it could inflict a fair bit of damage.  I may just have to put this on my wish list.

She Had It Coming!

Well what does she expect if she can't even do that right?
This add made me laugh out loud but in reality what an appalling message to society. I can't believe they ever got away with this shit.

Purely For My Own Pleasure

I'm thinking of stocking these Mexican nesting pots in my store for no other reason than that I think they are cute as.  If I order them for CHALK then I have an excuse to have a row of them on my windowsill - perhaps I'll put herbs in them.... hmmm... maybe coloured pencils.....cutlery....

Gidget's Nook

I make it a general rule not to go up to my daughter's top bunk more than is necessary and only if she invites me as it is very much her space and when you share a room with your brother it's very necessary to have some privacy.

As a result I leave her to it except every couple of weeks when I storm the citadel to change the linen and make sure nothing unseemly is growing up there.  Today was one such days.

WOW!! Is there a lot of stuff up there!!  After throwing armfuls of extra bedding, books, folders, diaries off the bunk to go back in their rightful homes I was left with the most wonderful snap shot of pre-teen life.

Amongst the array of soft toys and fairies there are movie posters, pictures of Katie Perry and Kylie, letters from friends, album covers from the likes of Mylie, jewellery and a million other treasures.  Although it looks insane, when you look closer you realise that everything is immaculately arranged.  I sat up there for ages just taking it all in.  Often when we lie up there to read together she tells me about the stuff and it's significance and it's the most amazing window in to her world.
I am actually rather jealous of her space as when the curtain is drawn and the lamp is on it is the most delicious hide-a-way.

Perhaps I need to incorporate my own nook in to the extension?

Birds ARE scary

I'm sorry but I find this picture hilarious.  Every time I look at it I chuckle.  Hope it makes you smile too.

Collections

I have my tea cups, lucious lady paintings and Surfer Boy has an extensive collection of Lego minifigures for which he is rather famous.  When I saw this collection on Flikr I fell in love.  Pez are such a great thing to collect - they're relatively cheap, they bring out new designs constantly and they look fabulous displayed like this.  I'm almost tempted to start a Pez collection myself.

Finally

I ordered CDs online because I wasn't sure how long it would take me to get to the shops and the little buggers took a week and a half to send them anyway!

The postie just delivered them so I now have this in my hot little hands at last.

You can imagine how inappropriately loud this will be playing in the shop today!

Before you scoff just be glad I'm not playing the other CD that arrived today....

Multi tasking

You may have seen this photo before but I couldn't resist posting it myself - Last month Licia Ronzulli, Italy's MEP, attended a voting session of European Parliament with her baby girl in order to draw attention to women's rights.  What a great image.

Bravo

A Slice Of Heaven

This picture is fantastic on so many levels - the colours are amazing, the background is my favourite teal, the fact that the cake has so much frosting goodness, the sheer height of the cake - I can only gape and wonder how mouthwateringly good it must taste.

Public Service Announcement

If you live in Australia and you haven't discovered them yet you must try these new biscuits from Coles.  They are surprisingly fantastic!!

While We're On Campers....

via Red Ticking

What I wouldn't give to be on a summer holiday with Surfer Boy in this van - this is my idea of perfection - it even has fairy lights!

I Wish....

It is freezing in Melbourne tonight and I am dreaming of being here - with a good book and some 'cookie cream commotion'!
Have a great weekend.

Vicarious Travels

My lovely friend Kristine is spending a delightful time on holiday with her husband.  I have been enjoying getting her blog updates and living vicariously through her as she tours around France.  Drop in and visit her here to follow her travels but I wanted to share this photo she posted today.  She and Will are visiting Chateaux in the Loire Valley and this shot is taken at Chenonceau of the kitchen quarters.
