What A Night

It's been a long time between posts but I guess now I'm in my 40's you can't expect too much. On Saturday I felt fabulous, sprightly, alert and champing at the bit to get to my party. By Sunday afternoon I felt every single second of 40 years. I think I aged about a decade in 24 hours!

After a lovely brunch with the family at Gourmet On Gamon, I headed down to set up the venue. Lanterns were hung, table was set, the very helpful Surfer Boy lugged multiple tables and 20 chairs from our place to the Studio. He then scampered off with the kids to his Mum's and I had the house to myself to glam up.

The caterer arrived, everyone turned up looking fabulous and I had a fantastic night. There was a lot of food, drink, laughs, and some very dodgy but enthusiastic dancing. We wrapped up in the wee small hours and headed home for a few hours shut eye before the clean up began. Poor Surfer Boy, not only did he have to set up, he also had to lug everything home again and on top of forking out the cash for the big night, he didn't score an invite!! Even I think he was majorly ripped off. Might be time to reward the poor bugger!!

Hopefully my 20 wonderful girls also had a good night, because I'm way too old to throw another bash for quite a while. I have paved the way and now I'm looking forward to sitting back and watching everyone else hit 40.

Wall-E op de rode loper

We hadden het hier al over de wereldpremiere van de nieuwste Disney/Pixarfilm Wall-E. Ondertussen hebben we een filmpje van Wall-E op de rode loper ! Geniet van het lieftallige brokje ijzer dat door de Walt Disney Imagineers werd gecreeërd.

Glago's Guest

Chris Williams regisseerde net zoals Disney's Bolt ook Disney’s shortfilm Glago's Guest. Dit nieuwe kortfilmpje vertelt het verhaal van een eenzame Russische soldaat die gestationeerd is in een Siberische buitenpost. Wanneer hij eindelijk een bezoeker krijgt, is hij blij dat zijn eenzaamheid eindelijk doorbroken wordt maar al vlug blijkt dat de zaken niet altijd zijn zoals ze lijken. Glago's Guest zal net voor de voorstelling van de film Bolt in de bioscoop te zien zijn.

Changement de decor

Enige tijd geleden kon je hier op Yago’s Disney Nieuws lezen dat de oldtimer van Cruella De Vil, die aan de ingang van de attractie “Studio Tram Tour : behind the magic” in de Walt Disney Studios, verwisseld werd met een oldtimer Taxi uit de film Pearl Harbor (foto van het vorige artikel was van Mousy). Blijkbaar vond Cruella dat niet echt leuk en dus heeft men de enige echte Cruella De Vil car terug aan de ingang van de attractie geplaatst.

Costa Maya en Disney Magic

De Disney Magic, een van de Cruiseschepen van de Disney Cruise Line, is het eerste cruiseschip dat terug zal aanmeren in Costa Maya, nadat orkaan Dean daar in augustus 2007 de aanlegdokken voor de cruiseschepen grotendeels verwoestte. De Disney Magic zal vanaf 30 september de haven één keer per maand bezoeken. De aanlegdokken zijn heropgebouwd en kunnen nu zelfs nog grotere schepen ontvangen. Daarnaast heeft men ook een nieuwe boardwalk gebouwd en zijn er nieuwe excursies uitgestippeld.

Wereldpremiere van WALL-E

In het the Greek Theatre (hartje L.A.) was er gisteren de wereldpremiere van de Pixarfilm over het kleine schattige robotje Wall-E. Op de rode loper stond de enige echte Wall-E te schitteren als een echte superster maar hij zal waarschijnlijk geen handtekeningen uitgedeeld hebben aan zijn talrijke bewonderaars.

Drinken in DLRP

Sedert enige tijd zijn er in Disneyland Resort Parijs twee drinkstandjes bijgekomen.

Het ene bevindt zich aan de ingang van Bella Notte in het Disneyland Park en daar kunnen we vooral in de koude dagen terecht voor een warm drankje. Men kan er koffie met allerlei smaken verkrijgen.

Een tweede is in de Walt Disney Studios en bevindt zich aan de voet van the Twilight Zone : Tower of Terror (la Terrasse). Daar kan je terecht voor een verfrissende en niet alcoholische cocktail drankje. Ook hier kan je kiezen uit een aantal smaken.

Prince Caspian en de Pevensies in DLRP

Op Yago’s Disney Nieuws hadden we het reeds over de komst van de hoofdrolspelers van de nieuwste The Chronicles of Narnia : Prince Caspian. Vrijdag was het dan zo ver.

De Disney’s Once Upon a Dream Parade ging in het Disneyland Park een beetje vroeger uit zodat de spectaculaire show in aanwezigheid van de acteurs uit de film stipt om 17.30 uur kon beginnen. Na de avant-première van de film in de Gaumont Cinema in Disney Village was er nog een speciale avond voor de VIP’s en pers.
